Seakayak Shetland is owned and run by Jason Fenn. It is a small and friendly enterprise, offering Sea Kayaking experiences to beginners and experienced paddlers alike.
Jason has been kayaking for 46 years and started whilst at school. Since then, he has competed in National and International Canoe Polo and Slalom Competitions, represented Wales, dabbled in White Water Racing and loves being out on the rivers or exploring and guiding on the sea and incredible coastline around Shetland.
During the past 30 years, he managed the biggest indoor climbing centre in Europe, before moving onto spending 25 years with a local council, delivering outdoor activities to a range of clients, many with additional learning needs.
He holds a wide range of Qualifications, including Level 3 White Water Coach, Advanced Water Sea Kayak Leader, NCC Coasteering Guide, The International, Winter and Summer Mountain Leader, Rock Climbing Instructor, Cave Leader, Mountain Bike Leader, Duke of Edinburgh Gold Trainer and Assessor.
Angus has lived in Shetland all his life. He has always enjoyed being on the water and frequently spent his weekends fishing from the family boat when he was young. He has a good knowledge and appreciation of the local environment and wildlife and respects the sea in all its moods.
Catriona enjoys meeting new people and taking groups out kayaking. With a young family, she doesn't manage out as often as she would like to
All three are BCAB Advanced Water Sea Kayak Leaders and /or Sea Kayak coaches. All our leaders are well qualified to help you to safely enjoy your Shetland adventure.
